Day 10 rest and resupply in Idyllwild

 Day 10 179 - 180 pct miles plus 2.5 back to trail

We woke up at the hotel after an amazing sleep in a real bed for the first time in two weeks.

We had to organize that the best possible breakfast we could do with the microwave only was going to be scrambled eggs and smashed avo on a bagel which worked perfectly. After we did and that our real breakfast was delivered and we ate that too.

First of all it was a great opportunity to catch up with loading the stories and photos onto the Blogg with Internet and then it was into  for some laundry and lunch.

Our host at the hotel was Rodge who was originally from Mumbai and somehow at finding self in Idyllwild Southern California what an amazing friendly guy he

looked after us and took care of our backpacks while we did all our stuff in town.

The laundry is usually at through hiker gathering place and we met up with Tiffany who had left the southern terminus on the same day as rock hopper and I. It was a good chance to catch up and find out what she had been doing and also find out what some of the other hikers that we started with we’re doing and where they were at on the trail.

We then had the most incredible lunch at the red kettle which was a gain way beyond expectations with a super fun server who was used to dealing with thru hikers and had some great stories to tell. The hospitality along the trail is truly amazing.

With full stomach sweet then headed to the supermarket for resupply, another hiker hang out. We met up with the eclectic crew as we call them a loose group of hikers that we had run across a few times along the trail who were great fun and came to catch up with what we had all been doing.

Then it was time to return to the trial so we repacked our bags with all the food and organized to get back to the trail head. Once again rock hoppers hitchhiking skills came to the four and we got the first car past took us all the way to the trail head.

So loaded up we went up to 2 1/2 miles back to the trail and then camped at soon as we could. We found a beautiful sunset camp and went to sleep with anticipation of the summit of Mount San Jacinto in the morning.
