Day 52

Day 52

What to say about today. Just when you think the high can’t get any better it just steps up again to a new level stop

We left camp just after seven and tighten down further until we turned towards Muir Pass. There was over 10 miles uphill to reach the top of the new pass. This was through some of the most beautiful forests and along the most amazing creeks and waterfalls I have ever seen. We made stops for second breakfast along the way. We pushed to reach the top for a late lunch. On the way up the pass continued to reveal itself and show you vast Coreys with glacial Lakes. We were hiking across snow for some of the time as there’s been much more snow in this valley then in the valleys we had hiked through up until now. We finally reached the John Muir hut at the top of your purse. The views were epic with snow and check it peaks as far as you could see in every direction. We took an extended break at the top and then hiked another 4 miles down to The perfect campsite with views of mountains and lakes. We ate our dinner together and watch the sun slowly turn the peaks orange. John Muir pass is my favorite pass the hike so far and the most beautiful day out of an unbelievably beautiful week. In bed by 8:30 Excited for a new day on the trail.
